For a team that has little to brag about thus far, Aaron Cook is quietly still putting together a very solid season. In the first game of a series with the Giants the Rockies took the win 10-5 and Cook won his ninth game.
Cook allowed four runs, three earned over seven innings to put the Rockies well in a position to win. The offense put up a four spot early in the second and Cook never looked back.
Todd Helton added a three run homer in the fifth and Garrett Atkins blasted a two run shot in the seventh to help boost the Rockies offense. Helton had three hits and drove in three, Jeff Baker and Atkins each had two hits. Baker drove in one.
Jose Castillo had three hits for the Giants, the only Giant with more than one hit.
