Rockies Fall Far In Game One Loss to Red Sox

by @ 2:40 am. Filed under 2007 World Series

Ouch.  Jeff Francis probably still doesn’t know what hit him as the Red Sox hitters did a number on the Rockies pitching staff.  Francis was tagged for six runs in four innings in his start while Franklin Morales was pummelled for seven runs in the fifth inning.  This game was over pretty quickly and you hope the team just moves on to game two so they can even up the series.

The lone Rockies run came in the second inning when Troy Tulowitzki doubled home Garrett Atkins.  Tulowitzki and Todd Helton had a pair of hits a piece and the rest of the team managed just a single and a double in a train wreck of a game.

Game two is tonight.  The Rockies will have to contend with Curt Schilling while Ubaldo Jimenez hopes to stop the damage on the mound.  It sure would be nice to take a game at Fenway before heading home.
